Background / BIO
With over 20+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, I bring a proven track record of building and sustaining strong safety cultures across diverse industries. My career spans safety leadership roles in the Steel Industry (U.S. Steel, Edw. C. Levy Co.), the Utility Sector (DTE Energy), and Automotive R&D (Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America) and includes managing various construction activities in each of these roles including maintenance activities, new equipment installations, and capital expansion projects.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Environmental Management from Slippery Rock University in 2004, followed by a Master’s degree in Safety Management from Oakland University in 2017. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) since 2012, I combine technical expertise with practical, people-focused strategies.
Grounded in Behavior-Based Safety principles and the Hierarchy of Controls, my philosophy centers on creating environments where safety is embedded into everyday decision-making. By aligning safety practices with organizational culture, I help companies reduce risk, improve compliance, and empower employees to take ownership of safety performance while focusing on leaderships’ critical role in fostering a safe work environment.

What is Dalla Piazza?
The name Dalla Piazza is in honor of my family name, which originated in Alano di Piave, Italy.
Like many small Italian villages, the town square is known as the central gathering place. In most instances, the town church is the most prominent structure of the square. In Italian, “Dalla Piazza” translates in English as “from the square.”
The square represents more than just a location; it’s a symbol of community, connection, and tradition. By carrying this name into my business, I honor my family heritage while reflecting the values of openness, integrity, and a strong foundation of community. The company logo is designed to represent that same small-town square, a place where people come together, ideas are exchanged, and trust is built, mirroring the way I approach safety and consulting with my clients.
